Catonsville came tearing into Monday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Hereford Bulls 11-2. For the Comets, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 win the Bulls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Gunner Gemmell tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Catonsville got a massive performance out of Brayden Bates, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave Bates a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Benhayon, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Catonsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Catonsville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Hereford, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Catonsville will head out to challenge Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hereford, they will be playing at home against Dulaney at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Bulls' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
