Softball Recap: Schenevus Central Dragons vs. Franklin Central Purple Devils
Schenevus Central took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They blew past the Franklin Central Purple Devils 14-4. That's more bragging rights for Schenevus Central, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
For Franklin Central's part, Maddie Hyzer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a stolen base, a double, and an RBI. Another player making a difference was Tamara Wright, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schenevus Central will square off against Charlotte Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Schenevus Central is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for Franklin Central, they will head out on the road to take on Richfield Springs Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin Central is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
