Baseball Recap: Annawan-Wethersfield Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Annawan-Wethersfield and Bureau Valley, and Annawan-Wethersfield kept the tradition alive. The Titans never let the Storm get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 on Saturday.

Not much got past Myer MyerHeitzler, who gave up just two hits to keep Bureau Valley off the board. MyerHeitzler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddux Heitzler, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Annawan-Wethersfield's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 7-2 (and 6-8 when he doesn't).
