Softball Recap: Richland Center Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

While Richland Center put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Platteville. The Hornets came out on top against the Hillmen by a score of 4-0. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 10-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Kyree Fischer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two doubles.

In other batting news, Jaycee Gander was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Chloe Darling was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Richland Center pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Platteville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6.
