Recap: Attica Red Ramblers vs. Southmont Mounties
The Attica Red Ramblers lost against the Southmont Mounties back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Attica was dealt a 57-23 loss at the hands of Southmont. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Attica in their matchups with Southmont: they've now lost five in a row.
Southmont's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Delorean Mason, who scored 20 points along with 6 steals. Mason is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe Jenkins, who scored 10 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Attica's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Southmont, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Attica will take on Crawfordsville at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Crawfordsville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Southmont, they will be playing at home against Danville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Danville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southmont in Indiana (Danville is ranked 39th, while Southmont is ranked 216th).
