Softball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Palo Verde

Liberty faced Palo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Patriots lost 9-3 to the Panthers. The Patriots have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Morgyn Vesco made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 12-5-2. As for Palo Verde, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Liberty has already played their next matchup, a 7-4 defeat against Coronado on the 22nd. As for Palo Verde, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-3 win against Centennial on the 24th.
