Soccer Recap: Homestead Beats Pulaski for Their Fourth Straight Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Homestead had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They never let the Pulaski Red Raiders get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Homestead's winning goal came courtesy of Carsten Calvert.

The win (which was Homestead's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-14. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matches. As for Pulaski, they moved to 10-8-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak.

Homestead and Pulaski are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Highlanders will take on West Bend West on Saturday. Homestead's defense better be ready for this one: West Bend West have averaged an impressive 3.5 goals per game this season. As for Pulaski, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Manitowoc Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on September 24, 2026.
