Volleyball Recap: North Crowley Panthers vs. Mansfield Legacy Broncos
After flying high against Crowley last Friday, North Crowley came back down to earth. The North Crowley Panthers lost 3-0 to the Mansfield Legacy Broncos on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-22.
Defeat or not, North Crowley got some senior leadership from Alexa Sinclair and Hannah Smith. Sinclair had 19 digs, while Smith had nine digs and 13 assists. Smith is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season.
Even though they lost, North Crowley kept the net locked down and finished the game with ten blocks. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mansfield Legacy didn't had any.
Mansfield Legacy found their leader in underclassman Isabella Moore, who had four digs and two aces.
North Crowley has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 20-12 record this season. As for Mansfield Legacy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-13.
North Crowley is on the road again on Tuesday to play Lake Ridge at 5:30 p.m. Lake Ridge is coming into the contest with 12 straight wins at home, so North Crowley will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Mansfield Legacy has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Weatherford on the 11th.
