Village Christian was the 3-1 winner over Crescenta Valley when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Crusaders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Village Christian sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 23-25, 15-12.

Mackenize Larsen paced Village Christian's offense, picking up ten kills. Larsen got some help from Allexa Valencia and her 25 assists. Valencia was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Village Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Crescenta Valley, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11.

Coming up, Village Christian will host Valley Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Crescenta Valley has already played their next matchup (against El Camino Real), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
