Soccer Game Preview: Foshay vs. Port of Los Angeles

The Foshay Wolverines will challenge the Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Foshay had taken Harbor Teacher down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Wolverines fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Foshay came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Harbor Teacher are ranked 53rd).

Alyssa Garcia and Nicole Plancarte scored both of Foshay's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Port of Los Angeles gave up the first goal on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Fremont 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Port of Los Angeles.

Port of Los Angeles' win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-2. As for Foshay, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Foshay took their victory against Port of Los Angeles in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Polar Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
