Football Recap: Solon Comets vs. North Royalton Bears
Solon had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it ten. They were dealt a 41-7 defeat at the hands of the North Royalton Bears. The Comets were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
As for North Royalton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 28 points per game.
North Royalton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryce Defendorf led the charge by rushing for 138 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Nin Piazza was another key receiver, picking up 61 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Solon has already played their next matchup, a 27-3 loss against Twinsburg on the 10th. As for North Royalton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 29-21 win against Stow-Munroe Falls on the 10th.
