Baseball Recap: Excel Christian Falls Short of Mineral County in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Excel Christian can now relate to. They fell 12-9 to the Mineral County Serpents on Friday. The Warriors have struggled against the Serpents recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Jayden Walz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Christian Freitas was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs.

Excel Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-9-1. As for Mineral County, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Excel Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mineral County, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-7 defeat against Smith Valley on the 10th.
