Softball Recap: Dublin Takes a Loss

Dublin scored first but ultimately less than Dougherty Valley in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 9-8. The Gaels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Sarah Bull was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kensington Abrew, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

This is the second loss in a row for Dublin and nudges their season record down to 2-17. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Dougherty Valley, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-9 record.

As of now, neither Dublin nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
