Baseball Game Preview: Osbourn Park Yellowjackets vs. Patriot Pioneers

Osbourn Park is 2-8 against Patriot since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to challenge the Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Osbourn Park 3.3, Patriot 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Osbourn Park's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Wednesday's struggle, when Gainesville hitters got past them. The Yellowjackets took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Cam Kim was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Patriot waltzed into their match on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Lions 26-1. That 25 run margin sets a new team best for the Pioneers this season.

Patriot's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Osbourn Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Osbourn Park suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Patriot in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
