Recap: Newcastle Dogies vs. Big Horn Rams
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pine Bluffs, the Newcastle Dogies were happy to have found some success on Saturday. Everything went their way against Big Horn as Newcastle made off with a 54-32 win. That's another feather in the cap for Newcastle, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Newcastle was led to victory by Adalyn Olson and Sydney Pederson. Olson scored 18 points along with 3 steals, while Pederson scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds. Olson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Newcastle's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Big Horn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newcastle will take on Arvada at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arvada will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 223rd in Colorado, while Newcastle is ranked 30th in Wyoming). As for Big Horn, they will be playing at home against Sheridan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sheridan has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 189 points over their last three matchups.
