Amarillo had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their defense stepped up to hand the Abilene Eagles a 2-0 shutout on Friday. Amarillo's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Amarillo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those ten games. This is the second loss in a row for Abilene and nudges their season record down to 6-11-3.

Looking ahead, Amarillo will square off against El Paso on Monday. El Paso will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Amarillo surely won't give up without a fight. Abilene does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
