Mercy Career & Technical falls despite strong effort from Taji Stewart

Recap: Mercy Career & Technical vs. Kohelet Yeshiva

After a string of three wins, Mercy Career & Technical's's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Kohelet Yeshiva by a score of 55-52. The loss was Mercy Career & Technical's first of the season.

Despite the loss, Mercy Career & Technical still got an impressive performance from Taji Stewart, who scored 26 points. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for him. Malachi Green was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Kohelet Yeshiva's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Benjamini, who scored 13 points. The matchup was Benjamini's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asher Kahlon, who scored 13 points.

Mercy Career & Technical's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Kohelet Yeshiva, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Mercy Career & Technical will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kimberton Waldorf at 4:00 p.m. on January 4th. Kohelet Yeshiva and Holy Cross will face off on December 27, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Holy Cross focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
