Basketball Game Preview: Foard Tigers vs. East Lincoln Mustangs

Foard hasn't had much luck against East Lincoln recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Foard Tigers will head out to square off against the East Lincoln Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Foard is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Friday. They took a 70-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Statesville. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 596th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 178th).

Meanwhile, East Lincoln came up short against West Iredell on Friday and fell 69-56.

Foard will need focus on slowing down Jaxon Dollar, one of several East Lincoln players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. Christian Atkins was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, East Lincoln was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Iredell only racked up five assists.

Foard's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for East Lincoln, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season.

Foard was dealt a bruising 81-41 defeat at the hands of East Lincoln in their previous matchup back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Foard was down 42-14.
