The Central Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Carlisle Bison at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five contests, but Tuesday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Central's offense. They lost 9-0 to Dale County on Wednesday.
Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Webb, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carlisle). They walked away with a 9-6 win over Palestine-Wheatley on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.
Lindley Lenderman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Lenderman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Carlisle let Tessa Sanders and Chloe Smith run wild. Sanders went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Smith went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Sanders has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of MaeCee Motton, who went 1-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.
Carlisle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Carlisle, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-8.
Central came up short against Carlisle in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, falling 18-13. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
