The Martin County Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Viera Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Martin County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Martin County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Durant by a score of 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Cody Bennin tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.
On the hitting side, Dalton French was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.
Martin County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durant only posted an OBP of .310.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Viera sidestepped Dwyer for a 9-7 win.
Dominic Leoni and Aiden Cameron did most of the damage at the plate: Leoni went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Cameron went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Jensen, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
Martin County's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Viera, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Martin County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Viera struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Martin County took their victory against Viera when the teams last played back in March of 2015 by a conclusive 8-1 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
