Basketball Recap: Gateway Regional Comes Up Short

Gateway Regional suffered their biggest loss since February 9, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 51-30 to the Haddon Township Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Hawks are ranked 32nd).

Leading Haddon Township to victory were Alli Kamulda and Madi Kamulda. Alli went 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points along with five boards and three steals, while Madi dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. With that strong performance, Madi is now averaging an impressive 8.4 rebounds per game. Keirsten Callahan was another key player, putting up six points.

This is the second loss in a row for Gateway Regional and nudges their season record down to 4-5. As for Haddon Township, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gateway Regional has already played their next game (against Deptford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Haddon Township has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Washington Township.
