Recap: Durand Railroaders vs. Mt. Morris Panthers
The Durand Railroaders came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 76-67 win over Mt. Morris. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Markell Tate continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Tate is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Smith, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds.
Durand is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Mt. Morris, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Durand will head out on the road to take on Webberville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Durand is coming into the match with three straight victories on the road, so Webberville is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Mt. Morris, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hill-McCloy at 7:00 p.m.
