Softball Recap: Vacaville Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Vacaville won the last time they faced River City and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Raiders 17-4. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Parkyr Smith looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Vacaville let Makayla Morgan and Hayden Kyne run wild. Morgan went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Kyne got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave Kyne a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Witte, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Vacaville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Vacaville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for River City, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Vacaville beat the Raiders by a score of 25-3 later that day.
