Basketball Game Preview: Ray Texans vs. Carroll Tigers

Ray is 9-1 against Carroll since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Texans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Ray has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Ray is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Corpus Christi Moody: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Texans blew the Trojans out of the water with an 84-37 final score. The Texans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Huzefa Ullah continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 75% from the field on his way to 21 points and three steals. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Mark Barragan, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Ray was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Carroll and Miller, and Carroll kept the tradition alive. The Tigers snuck past the Buccaneers with a 62-58 win on Tuesday.

Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.4 points over those games. As for Ray, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.

Ray strolled past Carroll in their previous meeting back in February of 2025 by a score of 77-61. Do the Texans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
