Softball Recap: Northeastern Wins Going Away Against Union County

Northeastern barely beat Union County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 12-2 win on Wednesday. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Alexis Russell was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Macey Oler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Northeastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Northeastern now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Union County, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Northeastern will face off against Richmond at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Union County, they will take on Edinburgh at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
