Castlewood is 7-1 against Colman-Egan since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Castlewood Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Colman-Egan C-E Hawks at 7:15 p.m. Castlewood is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Castlewood scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They walked away with a 59-51 victory over Pipestone. Given Castlewood's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 92nd in South Dakota, while Pipestone is ranked 338th in Minnesota), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Castlewood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Presley Knecht, who scored 19 points. Knecht continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cydni Kudrna, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Colman-Egan came up short against Garretson on Monday and fell 44-33. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Colman-Egan in their matchups with Garretson: they've now lost four in a row.
Castlewood's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Colman-Egan, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Castlewood was able to grind out a solid win over Colman-Egan in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 36-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for Castlewood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
