The Lancaster Eagles will square off against the Trinity Classical Academy Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lancaster is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Lancaster came out on top against Littlerock on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Eagles put the hurt on the Lobos with a sharp 11-2 win. Considering the Eagles have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ryan Nichols looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lancaster is 2-1 when Nichols allows two or fewer hits, but 7-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Adrian Morales was a standout: he got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Lancaster's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Cole Lewis was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, while Trinity Classical Academy put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Santa Clarita Christian. The Knights walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Cardinals.
The result came thanks to Andrew Carlson's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Quinn Minyard, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Steven Fallansbee, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
The win made it two in a row for Lancaster and bumps their season record up to 9-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Trinity Classical Academy, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
