Basketball Game Preview: Southern Choctaw Indians vs. Monroe County Tigers

The Southern Choctaw Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Monroe County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Southern Choctaw took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Leroy as Southern Choctaw made off with a 46-21 win. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Monroe County came into Saturday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They really took it to Excel for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-17 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-8.

Southern Choctaw is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35 points. As for Monroe County, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-14.
