MaxPreps 2015-16 Idaho preseason high school girls basketball Fab 5, presented by the Army National Guard

1. Mountain View (Meridian)
Head coach: Connie Skogrand
2014-15 record: 26-1

Last year the Mavericks took home the 5A title in a one-loss season, and they could be even better this year. Skogrand has a squad capable of perfection in 2015-16, with 5A Player of the Year Destiny Slocum back in the fold. She averaged 25.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists last season.

2. Boise
Head coach: Kim Brydges
2014-15 record: 18-8



The record for the Braves may not be that impressive, but they were the only team to defeat Mountain View last season. The Mavericks got revenge in the title game, but Boise should challenge them once again with the return of 6-foot-2 all-state selection Issy Hadden, who averaged 14.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game.

3. Century (Pocatello)
Head coach: Chris Shuler
2014-15 record: 22-3

The Diamondbacks took home the 4A title with an emotional win over Skyview highlighted by a huge late comeback. Shuler loses four-year star and Player of the Year Henny Hearn, but all-state point guard Rian Rawlings is more than ready to take the reins in 2015-16.

4. Centennial (Boise)
Head coach: Cassie Bro
2014-15 record: 20-6



The Patriots lost to Rocky Mountain in the opening round of the 5A tournament, but Bro's squad will be ready to go this season. Just a sophomore last season, guard Tori Williams was an all-state selection who averaged 16.5 points per game while shooting 44 percent from behind the 3-point arc. Expect her to improve on those numbers this season.

5. Timberlake (Spirit Lake)
Head coach: Matt Miller
2014-15 record: 20-4

The Tigers fell to Sugar-Salem in the 3A title game, but should be the favorite this year thanks to the return of all-state guard Allison Kirby. As a sophomore last season Kirby put up averages of 16 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists per game. Joining her will be fellow all-state selection Keelie Lawler, who averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game last season.
