Soccer Game Preview: Spanish Fort vs. Chelsea

The Spanish Fort Toros will face off against the Chelsea Hornets at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Spanish Fort is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Stanhope Elmore a 3-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for Spanish Fort, who have now won ten games in a row.

Jake Bauer and Ethan Spuler scored all three of Spanish Fort's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 47 goals.

Meanwhile, Chelsea faced Calera in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Hornets put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. Chelsea haven't had any issues with Calera recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Spanish Fort's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matches. As for Chelsea, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.
