Volleyball Game Preview: Mason Comets vs. Elder Panthers

The Mason Comets will square off against the Elder Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Mason is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Lebanon. Winning may never get old, but the Comets sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

One reason for the win was Mason's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-15, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Elder had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Knights as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Elder took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-10, 25-14.

Elder pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Mason, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.

Mason might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Elder in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
