Football Game Preview: Buckeye Trail Warriors vs. Malvern Hornets

The Buckeye Trail Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Malvern Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Buckeye Trail is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Tuscarawas Central Catholic 44-15 on Friday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Malvern beat Strasburg-Franklin 16-10 on Friday.

Buckeye Trail better keep an eye on Aaron Gore. He was instrumental in Malvern's win, rushing for 185 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Those 185 rushing yards gave Gore a new career-high.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Malvern's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Stephen Harmon was the leader with two.

Malvern's record is now 4-2. As for Buckeye Trail, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Things could have been worse for Buckeye Trail, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 32-14 loss to Malvern in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
