Basketball Game Preview: Centauri Falcons vs. Pagosa Springs Pirates

The Centauri Falcons will challenge the Pagosa Springs Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Centauri will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Tuesday, Centauri didn't have too much trouble with Alamosa as they won 58-41. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Mean Moose are ranked 274th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pagosa Springs was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 49-44 to Bayfield.

Pagosa Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Centauri, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Centauri came up short against Pagosa Springs when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 33-29. Can Centauri avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
