Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highland Springs). They really took it to the Armstrong Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up an 88-20 victory. With the Springers ahead 61-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Highland Springs' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brianna Shelton, who posted 20 points. The game was Shelton's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samaya Brown, who earned 17 points.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Highland Springs, bringing their record for this year to 8-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points per game. As for Armstrong, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland Springs will host Hampton at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hampton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Highland Springs likes a good challenge. As for Armstrong, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Atlee at 7:30 p.m.
