Baseball Game Preview: Seminole Ridge Hawks vs. Olympic Heights Lions

Seminole Ridge and Olympic Heights are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2015, but likely not for long. The Hawks will head out to challenge the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Seminole Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Seminole Ridge fell victim to Dr. Joaquin Garcia and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Dylan Peek was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Olympic Heights challenged Boca Raton on Monday. The Lions fell 5-2 to the Bobcats. The Lions have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Olympic Heights saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camilo Castellon, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Olympic Heights' loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Seminole Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Seminole Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Olympic Heights when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
