Baseball Recap: Londonderry Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

While Londonderry's win against Concord wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lancers skirted past the Crimson Tide 4-3. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Jaylen Stott made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Stott wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caden Jordan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Londonderry's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Concord, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
