Basketball Game Preview: Williams Bulldogs vs. Eastern Alamance Eagles

The Williams Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Eastern Alamance Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Williams was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-54 to Person. The Bulldogs were up 48-33 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Meanwhile, Eastern Alamance didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Cedar Ridge on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 68-64 win. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while the Fighting Red Wolves are ranked 467th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastern Alamance has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Williams, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Williams couldn't quite finish off Eastern Alamance in their previous matchup on January 7th and fell 56-54. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Eastern Alamance's Ja'Vier Tinnin, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards.
