After flying high against St. Marys last Friday, Karns City came back down to earth. The Karns City Gremlins received a blow on Friday as they fell 37-20 to Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion]. The Gremlins haven't had much luck with the recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Cole Johnston and Hunter Scherer certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Johnston rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, while Scherer gained 88 total yards and a touchdown. Johnston's longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. Shane Peters was in the mix too, providing Karns City with a touchdown.

Even though they lost, Karns City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 216 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 199 rushing yards in five consecutive games.
