Football Game Preview: Hernando Christian Academy Lions vs. Legacy Charter Eagles

The Hernando Christian Academy Lions will challenge the Legacy Charter Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hernando Christian Academy has four straight victories, Legacy Charter has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Hernando Christian Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: Lakeside Christian, who was ranked eighth at the time (Hernando Christian Academy was ranked second). Hernando Christian Academy claimed a resounding 58-22 win over Lakeside Christian. Hernando Christian Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 32 points or more this season.

Hernando Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Tayvion Howard, who rushed for 172 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Howard also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making six total tackles.

Hernando Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 487 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Legacy Charter scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were beaten by Eastland Christian 42-12.

Legacy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Hernando Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
