Volleyball Game Preview: Williston-Elko Blue Devils vs. Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks

The Williston-Elko Blue Devils will face off against the Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Williston-Elko will be strutting in after a victory while Blackville-Hilda will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Thursday, Williston-Elko was able to grind out a solid win over Calhoun County, taking the game 3-1.

Williston-Elko had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-15, 25-13, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Blackville-Hilda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wagener-Salley.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-15.

Williston-Elko now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Blackville-Hilda, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Williston-Elko came out on top in a nail-biter against Blackville-Hilda in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Fighting Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
