Baseball Recap: Winslow Takes a Loss

Winslow extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-7 in the process. They came up short against the Oceanside Mariners, falling 15-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mariners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 back in April.

Winslow saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Fisher, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

As for Oceanside, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The result was nothing new for the Mariners, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

On Oceanside's side, Dom Frisone was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that Frisone has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Blade Brann, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winslow will square off against Cony at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Oceanside, they will face off against Medomak Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mariners 3.6, the Panthers 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
