Basketball Preview: Texas Lions HomeSchool Lions vs. Grace Academy
The Texas Lions HomeSchool Lions will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Grace Academy at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Texas Lions HomeSchool proved they can win big back in January (they won by 33) but last Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 victory over Oklahoma F. The victory was all the more spectacular given Texas Lions HomeSchool's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 321st in Texas, while the Flame are ranked 151st in Oklahoma).
Meanwhile, Grace Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Tribe W at home to the tune of 64-17. Grace Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Reagan Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Allison Shell, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Texas Lions HomeSchool's record is now 25-4. As for Grace Academy, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
