Baseball Recap: American Heritage Takes a Loss

American Heritage was the 4-2 winner over Palmetto when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. American Heritage fell just short of Palmetto by a score of 6-4 on Thursday.

Ryan Ashley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Matt Pace was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

American Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Palmetto, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-14.

Coming up, American Heritage will be taking part in a tournament against Highland at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (American Heritage 3.8, Highland 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Palmetto, they will be playing at home against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Palmetto's pitchers better be ready for this one: Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) has averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
