Mascoma had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Hillsboro-Deering Hillcats with a sharp 14-8 victory. This was payback for the Royals, who suffered an 8-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Mascoma's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Hillsboro-Deering, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
