Recap: Pemberton Hornets vs. Lawrence Cardinals
This season hasn't been kind to The Pemberton Hornets, who are still winless after their tenth contest. They fell 19-7 to Lawrence on Thursday. Pemberton lost against Lawrence in their previous head to head back in October of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 24-8 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Pemberton had strong showings from Riley Stidham, who gained 82 total yards and a touchdown, and Gabe Baker, who rushed for 51 yards on only seven carries.
Pemberton's defeat was their 12th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 1-10 Lawrence and 3-7 New Egypt (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 43.5% over those games). As for Lawrence, their victory ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-10.
Pemberton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lawrence also has no future games currently scheduled.
