Baseball Recap: Collins Family Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Collins Family never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past the Animo Bunche Stallions 15-0. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Diego Huerta was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Collins Family is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5 otherwise. Huerta was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged three or more in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Collins Family got a massive performance out of Israel Arroyo, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three hits gave Arroyo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of David Ortiz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Collins Family was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Collins Family has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Animo Bunche, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
