Recap: Fairview Aggies vs. Russellville Golden Tigers
It was a good run, but The Fairview Aggies unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 31-14 to Russellville. Fairview lost against Russellville in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 41-14 score last time.
It was another big night for Cameron Phinizee, who rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns. Phinizee hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games. Michael Scofield also helped out with an impressive 110 receiving yards.
Fairview's defeat dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Russellville, their victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Fairview will take on Randolph School at TBD on Friday. Randolph School will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Russellville, they will head out on the road to face off against Athens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Athens is ranked 49th, while Russellville is ranked 65th).
