Volleyball Game Preview: South Central Trojans vs. Seneca East Tigers

After both having extra time off, the South Central Trojans and the Seneca East Tigers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

South Central had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Plymouth on Thursday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Big Red with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-17, 25-10.

South Central relied on the efforts of Bry Lopez, who had 12 digs and two assists, and Keragin Gray, who had 32 assists and four digs. Gray is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 25 games she's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Seneca East came up short against Buckeye Central on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Bucks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-18, 25-16.

South Central's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Seneca East, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

South Central suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Seneca East in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
