Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson West Tigers vs. Silver Lake Eagles

The Jefferson West Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Silver Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Jefferson West came up short against Riley County and fell 63-55. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Silver Lake, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They came out on top against Hiawatha by a score of 70-57 back in December of 2024. The Eagles pushed the score to 53-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Hawks cut but never quite recovered from.

This is the second loss in a row for Jefferson West and nudges their season record down to 2-3-1. As for Silver Lake, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Jefferson West came up short against Silver Lake in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 68-57. Can Jefferson West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
