Baseball Recap: Fort Bend Hightower Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Fort Bend Hightower had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let the Alief Elsik Rams onto the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The Hurricanes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rams, too.

Dallas Torres made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Torres was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Khylan Davis was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Anthony Reyna, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Fort Bend Hightower always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .744. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alief Elsik only posted an OBP of .000.

Fort Bend Hightower has already played their next matchup (against Terry), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Alief Elsik will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Morton Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on February 17th.
